Over 15 years, Bully's has developed a reputation as one of Cardiff’s little gems. "We try to be the restaurant of choice for people who are passionate about food and wine", said Restaurant owner Russell Bullimore.
Bully’s uses seasonal produce from Welsh providers, complemented by a unique French wine list sourced from small, passionate growers.
Bully’s is a great place to eat, combining an intriguing atmosphere with excellent, interesting food. The mission is not only to have great tasting food, but to provide efficient and friendly service because customer satisfaction is paramount.
"We combine menu variety, atmosphere, ambiance, special theme nights and a friendly staff to create a sense of 'place' in order to reach our goal of overall value in the dining/entertainment experience."

EXPRESS LUNCH
At lunch time (12-2pm Wednesday - Saturday) we offer an express menu: two courses for £14 and three courses for £17.50. (The evening a la carte menu is also available). Special occasion? Why not go for our Tasting Lunch Menu? 5 courses £21 or with matching wines £35
We change the express lunch menu and tasting menu seasonally but it can also change weekly and daily, according to our current specials. In all cases we ask that if there is a particular dish you fancy, please call ahead to see if it will be available.
DINNER
We are open for dinner Wednesday - Thursday 7-9pm; and Friday - Saturday 7-10pm. Please call to make a reservation in advance or send an email and we'll call you back.
Our menus are changed monthly, with our wine list. Some dishes change weekly whilst others - like our signature Welsh Black Beef fillet - are available throughout the year.
SUNDAY LUNCH
Bully's are serving Sunday lunch again! For a while, we believed that this tradition had faded in popularity but following heavy demand, we re-launched Sunday roasts in early 2011 and we've been fully booked every week!
The menu changes slightly each week, according to the season and the availability of produce. We offer five starters and five main courses; two of the mains will always be a traditional roast: pork, beef and lamb.
THE TEAM
In November 2002 Russell Bullimore started working for his father, Paul, in the qwerky Llandaff premises - the site where Bully's had been since 1996. Russ brought a dedicated focus to quality food, his obvious passion for food driving his ambition to propel the restaurant to a new level.
Here's what the website toptable said in 2009:
"toptable Dining Awards 2009 - Runner Up: Best for Hidden Gems. Who needs space to swing a cat when you've got a hush-hush reputation as one of Cardiff's best restaurants? The locals are going to hate us for telling you about this miniscule gem just outside of the centre of town but we're going to anyway! With just eight mix and match tables in a rustically eclectic dining room, Bully's is intimate and just so perfect for romantic tete-a tetes but also appeals to local media luvvies and business men alike. Incredibly friendly and efficient service is an ideal partner to traditional French dishes cooked by a talented French chef, using wonderful Welsh ingredients."
Head Chef
Gareth has had various Head chef jobs in the UK and has now settled in Bullys as the Head Chef. He has catered for large shows, hotels and fine dining restaurants ranging from 16,000 meals per day to intimate numbers. On his travels he has worked with Raymond Blanc for 4 years and has catered for royalty, film stars and sporting legends.
Sous Chef
Chris has worked in the majority of AA rosette restaurants in Cardiff where he has gained valuable experience. Since leaving The Holland House Hotel, he’s stepped up and found himself with an exciting and rewarding career at Bully’s. He believes that this restaurant is going somewhere and considers himself fortunate enough to be part of it.
Restaurant Operations Manager
Dewi, the operations manager of Bully’s joined the team in May 2011. He has worked in bars, restaurants and hotels over 15 years and has a passion in customer service. He has catered for large dinners and weddings as well as more intimate functions. Dewi is a fluent Welsh speaker. He has also worked for major chain hotels in Cardiff, and has now settled here at Bully’s.
